Hey there New Year! Sometimes it feels like we need to change our life around_ we have a lot of ambitious ideas in our head for the new beginning and puffff!!! Looks impossible. In the following I show you four wonderful techniques that will help you make it happen (for real) this 2019.

  1. Hello reality

Take a piece of paper and draw a line in the middle. To the left write “activities that I dedicate more time to”, and on the right “activities that I like to do”. Write between 5-10 things under each headline. Take a look at your lists, are they very different? Do you think there is something you can adjust on the left column to make it more similar to the right one? What daily changes can you achieve? What about within a weekly basis?

  2. See it to believe it

Log into Pinterest and create a board with what that you’d like to be present in your life. You can take images of friends, couple goals, trips, sport and fitness, food, etc. Make sure they are images that reflect where you want to be. Once you have them ready, print them out, and glue them on a piece of paper. Oh! And you can also include inspirational or motivational quotes. Place it somewhere where you can see it every day.

  3. Adjusting the rhythm

Maybe there is something that you can already complete today (e.g. throw out the clothes you haven’t worn in years but still lying around in your closet) or this week (e.g. get used to drinking 2 liters of water a day). Make a list of goals for the day, the week, this month, the next three months, and for the year.

  4. Start living it today

Ok, I’m going to provoke you a bit. Take another pice of paper and write in the PRESENT TENSE (yes, as if it was already your reality) the following: “I feel thankful for…” from here you can allow yourself to write whatever your heart desires. The most important thing is be as detailed and concrete as you can. If you’d like to give it a bit of structure, you can begin by saying how is your house like, where are you living, how is your daily life, how much money are you making every month (yes, put EXACTLY the number you’d like to see on your bank account every month, sorry I said to write in the present tense, the money that you see every month), who are you with, how do you feel, etc. Again, the most important thing is describe it as if it was already your reality (that is why I am so keen on using the present tense).

Oh, and no pressure if you can’t complete this during January. You can also do it in February. However I believe that it is important, that at least once year, you take the time to ask yourself if you are on the path that you really want to be in or if you’re simply just “on it”.

Happy new year!

xx
