Dear Coronavirus: Thank You.
I read the following article on Elephant Journal by Riya Sokol, and I just had to share it here.
Sending you so much love,
xx Irene
Dear Virus,
Thank you for shaking us and showing us that we are dependent on something much bigger than we think.
Thank you for the humbleness that comes with this realisation.
Thank you for making us appreciate the luxury we lived in—abundance of shops, products, freedom—and realising we were taking it for granted.
Thank you for stopping us to make us see how lost we were in the “busy-ness;” not having time for the most basic things. See where we act like robots, assuming things don’t change—relationships, families, work, the world.
Thank you for allowing us to put aside all the bullsh*t stories and “problems,” we thought were so important, and showing us what is actually is.
Thank you for stopping the cars, planes, trains. The earth was begging us to look at the pollution for a long time…we didn’t listen.
Thank you for boosting our care toward other people and appreciating our and their lives and health.
Thank you for the self-care you forced us to practice. We forgot that our body is our home.
Thank you for forcing us to stay aware and present—observing when and how we use our bodies, how much water we drink, and what we eat.
Thank you for all the fear that’s been a global disease for years but not many of us wanted to face it. Now we have to face it. All that’s been repressed and covered with the masks will come out and we have to confront this primal anxiety. Learn how to embrace it with love and with the support of our community.
Thank you for taking away our jobs (those who can manage without them), so we could really slow down and be present. Make a full re-evaluation of our lives.
Thank you for showing us that the real peace and place of power is not outside, but inside, deep within. We finally are forced to look inward.
Thank you, as we finally understand what it means: that we are all connected.
Thank you for making us realise that what we focus on we attract, and for giving us the opportunity to spread more love through support.
Thank you for the unity between all of us, showing that love and connection are all that matters.
Thank you for the system and structure that supports us in organising the world now.
Thank you for the doctors and nurses who are showing up incredibly, and that we can count on them.
Thank you for spirituality and realising that work and money are not everything. Prayer and our emotional world are as important as all the mundane things.
Thank you for making us see a wider and bigger picture of it all. It’s a dramatic situation but it forces us to see the world from an integral perspective. And, finally, thank you for doing this reset.
We knew the world had to change, as it couldn’t continue like it was. Thank you for helping us to undermine everything and giving us a chance to build the world from the beginning—wiser and more conscious.
This virus is part of us. It is between us, in us. It connected us all—either physically or energetically.
Gratitude supports the immune system but also lets you see things from many perspectives. It’s up to us which perspective we will choose. But it’s best to have them all inside.
